Outdoor activities

The museum is located in the middle of the nature of the Soesterberg Air Base Park. Take the time for a walk or one of our cool outdoor activities.

During the school holidays you can ride in a mini-jeep, mini-tank or a real military vehicle. We will open the outdoor season in April 2024 and the outdoor activities will be open to visitors every weekend.

Our vehicles will be running again from spring. Keep an eye on this page or subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed.

Amusement parks have rollercoasters, we have tracked vehicles! Speed through our tank arena on an M688 amphibious tracked vehicle or an M3A1 half-track from WWII *.

Our boarding point is located at the Arena outside. Follow the ‘Arena’ signs or take the shuttle from the museum!

Price per person € 6,50 for the M3A1 half-caterpillar and € 11,50 for the M688.
Tickets can only be purchased on site at the outside box office. It can be a bumpy ride, so you ride at your own risk.

Explore the local area

Combine your visit to the museum with a nice stroll around the green surroundings and a walk through the military history of the former Soesterberg Air Base.

Walking routes along ‘Munitiepark’ or ‘Landgoed De Paltz’ (Herman van Veen Arts Center) are signposted around the museum. You can also download the overview map (Dutch).
